TBS - Social Impact Growth Fellowship
Duration: 3 Months | Compensation: $20/hr | Time Commitment: 35 hrs/month | Location: Remote
About the Fellowship
This fellowship is designed for early to mid-career professionals transitioning from corporate or tech sectors into the social justice space, particularly those developing social-impact ventures that aim to influence policy and systemic change.
The fellowship offers a mutual learning opportunity—fellows will contribute to real-world business development projects while receiving mentorship, training, and support to shape their own business ventures. The fellow will work directly with TBS business leaders and the business development team, gaining insight into how business can be a tool for policy change and social transformation.
Fellow Profile
We’re looking for individuals who are:
Early to mid-career professionals in corporate tech or related sectors.
Actively developing a social-impact business idea.
Passionate about gender equity and migration.
Eager to learn, collaborate, and apply their skills in a new context.
Fellowship Objectives
Provide hands-on experience in business development within a gender equity framework.
Support the fellow in translating their background into a viable, equity-centered venture.
Offer structured mentorship, learning sessions, and strategic guidance.
Key Responsibilities
The fellow will contribute to a time-limited business development project, including:
Research & Opportunity Mapping
Identify new partnership, funding, and client opportunities.
Analyze market and policy trends to inform outreach and strategy.
Outreach & Engagement
Draft and refine business pitches for potential partners and funders.
Conduct cold outreach via email and LinkedIn.
Track engagement and iterate on messaging.
Marketing & Visibility
Contribute to content strategy with a focus on LinkedIn growth and thought leadership.
Support review of marketing strategy and content ideas.
Strategic Learning & Venture Support
Participate in bi-weekly mentorship sessions with the leadership team.
Join learning labs on social impact business models, policy influence, and ethical storytelling.
Receive feedback and support to develop their own venture, including:
Business model refinement
Social impact strategy
Policy engagement pathways
Deliverables
Weekly updates on research, outreach, and content contributions.
Drafted business pitches and outreach logs.
A short reflection or presentation at the end of the fellowship on learnings and venture progress.
